Corporate Events
Cooking is an excellent leveller and a great way to communicate with one another. It tests culinary skill, organisation, management, meeting deadlines, improvisation, stamina, delegation, stress management; whilst at the same time can unleash the creative spirit in you. We have devised two very special challenge days that incorporate all these elements, plus ensuring that everyone has a lot of fun on the day.
Cook The Books, Live!
Are you the next Nigella, or Jamie? Can you work as a team and deliver two dishes TV chef style in a cookery demonstration? Learn about the origin of your recipe, the ingredients, how to prepare, cook and serve it, what wine to compliment. The wrap it all up into a presentation, decide which two of the team will demonstrate the dishes, who will assist and who will be the director.
Masterchef-The Apprentice
A great way to discover who has culinary flare, who is organised, and who can communicate well. Work as a team to produce a three course menu starting with ingredients from the kitchen gardens. You will be given a detailed menu and recipes to work with. Whilst Angela will guide you, it will be your team leader that will see you through to presenting food to restaurant standard. You will taste wines, and match them with the courses.
A Typical day
- Arrive at venue. Welcome from Angela with drinks and small eats.
- Angela will take you into the kitchen and introduce your menu, and give a short demonstration to show some of the techniques and skills you will be using to achive perfection.
- Participants are then shown to their work stations and briefed on equipment, and a short lesson in knife skills.
- Ingredients are collected, some of these will be harvested from the garden depending on the time of year. Then the cooking begins.
- If you are a large group, we will split you into 2 teams, one team will take a class in the priciples of wine tasting (this will include how to taste wine, discovering 3 grape varieties, tastin with and without food, ending in a quiz). The other team prepare the starter and dessert. Teams will then swap to complete the menu.
- Team 2 will set the dining room for lunch.
- Everyone relaxes and enjoys the fruits of their labour with a glass of wine, or soft drink.
- An opportunity at the end of the session for prize giving, wine tasting and purchasing goodies from our kitchen essentials range.
All recipes, ingredients and cooking tips are included in the price. An additional wine tasting package can be included, price is dependent on the wines chosen.
We are also able to organise goody bags with cookery books, ingredients such as Anglesey Sea Salts, Penderyn Whisky miniatures, chocolates etc. Prizes for best in class, plus certificates rewarding excellence can also be arranged on request with an additional cost.
